Jacob Freriks, 63, passed away at his home in Orange City, Friday between the hours of 3 and 4 o’clock in the afternoon. Death came as a result of a lingering heart ailment.

The departed was born to Derek and Mary (Bausch) Freriks and raised in Orange City vicinity and engaged in farming until his retirement to Orange City several years ago. Survivors are his wife, Gertrude (Groot) Freriks and two sons: John Freriks of Sheldon and Dr. Dick Freriks of Chicago. There are 2 grandchildren.

Surviving also are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Josie Walters of Watertown, South Dakota; Jno. Freriks of Washta, Iowa; William Freriks of Sioux City; Sue, Mrs. Oscar Eason of Alton; Mary, Mrs. Jno. Vander Werf of Chicago; Margaret, Mrs. Neal De Vries of Montrose, South Dakota; Dorothy Freriks, R.N. of Cherokee. A brother, Dick Freriks preceded him in death on December 11, 1947.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1 P.M. in the Van Etten Funeral Parlor and at 1:30 in the First Reformed Church with Reverend R. Bronkema officiating.
