SIOUX CENTER, Iowa | Betty Frances DeGroot, 85, of Bridgeport, W.V., formerly of Sioux Center, passed away on Nov. 2, 2016 in Morgantown, W.V.
Memorial services will be held on Dec. 3, at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center.

She was born on Jan. 2, 1931, in Sioux Center, daughter of the late John Mieras and Alice DeBoer Mieras. Betty was a homemaker for many years.
Betty enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with family.

Betty is survived by her husband of 67 years, Marvin "Bud" DeGroot of Bridgeport; sons, Bruce DeGroot and wife, Tanna of Core, W.V., and Robert "Bob" DeGroot of Mukwonago, Wis.; grandchildren, Bruce DeGroot Jr. of Fairmont, W.V., Venus Deluga of Core, Amber Muir, of Pittsburgh, Pa., Devin DeGroot of Waukesha, Wis., and Danielle DeGroot of Mukwonago; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marlene DenHerder of Tucson, Ariz., and Charlotte Vermeer of Sioux Center.
Betty was preceded in death by one son, Brian DeGroot; her parents, John and Alice Mieras; and parents-in-law, Henry and Jennie DeGroot.
