Mrs. Carl Baune Born On P. Frantzen Homestead Here
Mrs. Carl Baune, life-long resident of this vicinity, passed on from a complication of deceases Wednesday evening at 6:30. Aug. 25th, at the LeMars hospital, where she had been taken for treatment a week previous to her death.

Christine Frantzen was born on the Frantzen homestead 4 miles southeast of Alton ou Nov. 7, 1878 daughter of the late pioneers, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Frantzen. She was not yet 65 years of age. She was married April 3, 1913, to Carl Baune, who died some years ago.

Mrs. Baune is survived by 3 children; Cletus. Marina and Xaveria (Mrs. Leo Ables), all of Alton; ami three stepchildren, Henry Baune of Lucan. Minn.. Andrew of St. Peter. Minn, and Mary (Mrs. Lawrence Schwarz) of Slayton, Minn.; also by three brothers and three sisters: P. Frautzen of Alton. Joe of Altavista. Nick of Dell Rapids, S. D.; Mrs. Frank Ginsbach of Dell Rapids, Sister M. Fidelia of Dubuque, Mrs. John Fisch ('Rose) of Marshalltown; and by 12 grandchildren. Mrs. Baune was a devoted mother, a kind friend and neighbor and the family have the sincere sympathy of many friends in her early passing. She was a member of St. Mary's church, where services were in charge of the Very Rev. J. M. Xeppel Saturday morning, with interment in St. Mary’s cemetery. Pallbearers were Chas. Arens. Geo. Homan, Paul Von Arb. Frank Mousel, James Kinney and Aloy Biever.
