Romke Feikema, a resident of Hawarden for twenty-five years, passed away at his home at 10:40 Sunday morning. He had been in failing health, the past winter, but was bedfast only a week preceding his death.

Funeral services will be held at the home at 1:30 and at the Christian Reformed Church at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, with Reverend A.D. Folkema in charge. Interment will be at Sioux Center.

Romke Feikema was born at Fraueker, Friesland, The Netherlands, on June 30, 1865. He grew to manhood there and married Tryntje Bouma. In 1902, he came to America and first settled at Sioux Center, where he lived until 1913, when he moved to Brookings, South Dakota. In 1920 he settled on a farm northeast of Hawarden. In 1924, he retired and came to Hawarden to make his home. His wife preceded him in death in 1924.

He is survived by six children: Frank and Tillie Feikema of Hawarden; Jake Feikema of Duluth, Minnesota; Mrs. E.L. Grew of Los Angelus, California; Mrs. William Obbink of Bellflower, California; and Mrs. W.M. Kayser of Omaha.

He was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Hawarden.
