Word was received of the sudden death of Mrs. Lawrence Baer nee Agnes Bouma of Joplin MO. Mrs. Baer formerly resided at Orange City and is a sister of Nick Bouma who lives here.

(From an ancestry.com report Laurence Sylvester Baer born 8 Apr 1899 died 5 Mar 1978 Orange City IA, married to Agnes Bouma born 9 May 1901 Orange City IA, died 12 Oct 1934 Joplin MO married 1924. Her parents were Joute ‘Joe’ Bouma 1866-1938 and Akke Ottema 1870-1901. Agnes died of food poisoning. She is buried in Orange City cemetery.
