The Alton Democrat of Aug 21, 1909

The funeral of Mrs. De Vries was held at the Holland church west of Carnes Monday afternoon — Rev. Vander Hoek officiating. Interment at Orange City.

(The Sioux County cemetery Index lists Djiewke Stellingwerf De Vries as died 13 Aug 1909 of Carnes buried West Lawn cemetery Orange City IA. Sioux County death record lists her as Mrs. Sake died at 64 years. Father Harmen Stellingwerf and ____ Kuiken.)

(From an ancestry.com report Dieuwke Harmens Stellingwerf born 1847 married Sake ‘Sam’ J. De Vries born 1849 Netherlands, children were Herman, Johanna, Tryntje, Geertje, and John.
From records on www.wiewaswie.nl Sake de Vries born Pietersbierum age 21 married Dieuwke Harmens Stellingwerf born at Klooster Lidlum age 24, daughter of Hermen Froukes Stellingwerf and Tjitske Jans Kuiken, married 15 May 1869 at Barradeel, Friesland Netherlands. Sake was the son of Jan Sakes de Vries and Doetje Dirks Kooistra.)
