Sioux County Capital July 24, 1958

Mrs. Rob De Jong (Lillian Mae) passed away at the Orange City hospital on July 16, 1958, at the age of 43. She had been ill about a year. Death was the result of cancer.

Mrs. De Jong was born in Orange Cityto Mrs. Elizabeth Haak Vaas and Mrs. Ben Vaas on May 27, 1915. She lived in the Orange City area all her life. She was married to Mr. Robert De Jong on February 8, 1934.

Surviving are her husband; her children, Mrs. Robert Bolluyt, Mrs. Irwin Franken, Marlo Mrs. James Goslinga, Ronald, Linda and Donna Six Grandchildren, her parents and a brother Earl Vaas. One brother Donald Vaas, preceded her in death four years ago.

Services were held Friday, Jul 18, 1958, in the First Chr Ref. church in Orange City under the driection of the Rev. J. B. Hulst. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Wobbema provide special music. Pall bearers were Engelbert B. Gesink, Merle Van Klompenburg, Henry F. De Jong, Donald Vaas, John H. Noteboom, and Lawrence Vander Haak, Interment was at the Orange City cemetery.
