JOHN BRANTSEN DIED SUNDAY
LIVED IN SIOUX CENTER 12 YEARS FOLLOWING RETIREMENT FROM FARM LIFE

John Brantsen passed away at his home here Sunday morning after an illness of some weeks. He was 65 years years of age and for the past two years has not been in the best of health.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the home and at the First Christian Reformed Church, with Reverend Heysing of Hull in charge.

Mr. Brantsen was born in the Netherlands but lived in this country for 43 years. The family farmed in this vicinity until twelve years ago when Mr. and Mrs. Brantsen retired and moved to Sioux Center. Mrs. Lubertje (Juffer) Brantsen died very suddenly three years ago.

Six children survive: Mrs.Gerrit Kosters of Rock Valley; Fred and Will, Sioux Center; Mrs. G.A. Franken, Sioux Center; Mrs. Jake Duistermars, Carnes.

Mr. Brantsen was a respected member of the community, a kind and thoughtful neighbor, devoted husband and father.
