Jake Brands passed away at nine o'clock Thursday night December 31, at the University Hospital at Iowa City.

Mr. Brands lived at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and was under medical care for about a year for an intestinal ailment.

He leaves his wife, formerly Jeanette Dirksen, and two children to mourn his death.

The funeral was held at the Christian Reformed Church, conducted by Reverend J. Gritter, on Tuesday and also at the Dirksen home.
