H. K. De Jong Rites Are Held Tuesday At County Seat
Henry K. De Jong, long-time resident of Orange City, died at the local hospital Saturday after an illness of about two years. He was a hospital patient for several months. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the First Reformed Church, Rev. R. Van Heukelom and Rev. Robert Bast officiating, and burial was in the local cemetery.

Mr. De Jong was born June 20, 1881 on a farm north of Alton to pioneer parents, Mr. and Mrs. Koen De Jong. He married Elizabeth Van Horssen March 14, 1906, and they farmed near Orange City until 1916, when they moved to town. He was employed for 30 years as cream hauler for the Orange City Cooperative Creamery, and for 16 years drove the mail truck between Orange City and Alton. Two years ego, due to ill health, he retired from this work.

Survivors Include the widow: two sons. Orville of Orange City and Milo of Grand Rapids, Mich.;
four grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; a brother, Joe of Sheldon; Two sisters, Mrs. H. P.
Muilenburg and Mrs. Chas. Sterrenberg,both of Orange City
