Beune "Binne" Bouma was born March 1, 1854 in the Netherlands and died June 27, 1926 at Orange City. He was the widower of Akke Bijlstra. She was born 22 March 1854 at Dantumadeel and died there 5 January 1890.

They had one son Garrett Bouma.

He was buried at Orange City, Sioux County, Iowa.
