The community was shocked Monday morning to learn of the death of Johanna Bosman which occurred at 6:30 at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit after an illness of one week. She was taken ill with what was supposed to be flu Monday of last week. No alarm was felt until Friday when the symptoms seemed worse, and a physician was called, who immediately pronounced it pneumonia. A trained nurse was put in charge of the patient and everything possible was done for her relief, but to no avail, as her condition grew steadily worse until death relieved her.

Johanna lived her entire life in the Boyden community, was known too and loved by all and was a general favorite with the younger set. Her loss will be mourned not alone by the family but by the entire community.

Funeral services were held in the Reformed Church at Boyden Wednesday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in the Boyden Cemetery.

She is survived by father, mother, one brother, and five sisters, all of whom were present at the funeral, besides a number of other relatives. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community.
