Mrs. Artie Bouma, 73, of Alton, passed away Saturday, December 10, in the nursing wing of the Sheldon Hospital where she had resided for three years.

Artie Henrietta Bouma was born in Middleburg on January 19, 1904, to Henry and Kate Vander Wilt. She married Andre Bouma December 10, 1925, at Middleburg. They farmed near Carnes until moving to Alton in 1947. Andrew passed away November 30, 1973.

Mrs. Bouma was a member of the Alton Reformed Church having been active in church groups.

She is survived by two sons: Roy, of Boyden, Harold, of Orange City; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 8 brothers and sisters: Mrs. Henry (Margaret) Den Beste, of Sibley; Rollin Vander Wilt, of Worthington, Minnesota; Arnold Vander Wilt and Mrs. Woodrow (Angeline) Nattress of Sibley; Mrs. Sebastian (Caroline) Groendyke, of Sioux City; Mrs. Gerald (Martina) Drost, of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Howard (Geralden) Hofmeyer, of Hartley; and Ervin Vander Wilt, of Sioux City.
