Funeral services for Harry L. Bouwmeester, 86, were held Wednesday, June 3, at 10:30 a.m. at the Van Etten Funeral Chapel with Reverend Alvin A. Hook officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.

Mr. Bouwmeester died Sunday at the Orange City Municipal Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born January 10, 1884, at Harlem, Holland, and came to America in 1904 and lived in Sioux City until about 4 years ago when he came to Orange City and lived in the Pioneer and Heritage Homes.

While in Sioux City, Mr. Bouwmeester was a custodian of the First Methodist Church for 35 years.

Survivors include his widow, Blanche (Van Benthem) Bouwmeester. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Bouwmeester of Harlem, Holland and his brother, Charles of Sioux City.
