Graveside Services Set Friday, 2:30 p.m.

Committal services for a long-time Orange City businessman, Sybren Bouma, will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 in Orange City Cemetery.

Mr. Bouma died Tuesday evening at Edgerton, Minnesota, where he made his home with a son.

He had been in excellent health, despite his 90 years. Death followed a fall down a stairway, in which he suffered fatal injury.

Born in Friesland, August 5, 1862, Mr. Bouma was married to Brechtje Schilstra in Holland and came to this country as a man of 30 years. He settled first in the east and came to Orange City some 33 years ago.

He took over a local meat market formerly operated by the Synhorsts, and operated that business in partnership with James Woudstra until seven years ago, when he sold out to Woudstra and retired.

Mrs. Bouma died at Orange City nine years ago, and is buried here.

Survivors included six children: Herbert of Vancouver, Washington; Sidney of Edgerton, Minnesota; Henry and Herman of Hancock, Minnesota; Jake of Blue Earth, Minnesota; Julia of Pine Rest, Michigan.
