Mr. and Mrs. P.H. De Jong of Newkirk have been married fifty years and planned to hold a golden wedding celebration last Thursday but it was necessarily postponed on account of the death of their 14-year-old granddaughter, Ada Bomgaars, which occurred at Platte, South Dakota, on the day set for the anniversary celebration.

Ada Bomgaars was born to Henry Bomgaars and Wilhelmina (De Jong) Bomgaars on February 28, 1908. She died October 20, 1921. She was buried in Newkirk Cemetery in Newkirk, Sioux County, Iowa.

She had one brother, Henry Bomgaars.
