Newkirk Girl Fatal Burns
Audrey Boone, 17, Died Friday

Funeral services were held Monday at the Newkirk Reformed Church for Audrey Boone, 17, who died in the Sheldon hospital as a result of serious burns. Rev. Everett Brass officiated.

The girl, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Boone of Newkirk was critically burned last Wednesday evening at her farm home when she mistook gasoline for kerosene as she tried to light the fire in the kitchen range for the evening meal. She ran from the house with the flaming can and members of the family rolled her on the ground to extinguish the flames.

Audrey was a niece of A. E. Boone of Sheldon and a cousin of Edward A. Boone, Andy Boone and Alvin Oldenkamp.
