Margaret Stapenhorst, 93, of Hospers died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at the Extended Care Unit of the Orange City Hospital. Services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's
Catholic Church in Hospers. Msgr. Kenneth Seifried will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Hospers under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home, Remsen.

Margaret was born June 29, 1906, at rural Hospers, the daughter of Peter and Regina (Hentges) Robinet. She was raised and educated in the Hospers area and then did domestic work in the area. She married Henry Stapenhorst Feb. 1, 1927, at Hospers. They farmed in the Hospers area until retiring on the farm in 1968. Mr. Stapenhorst died Aug. 9,1979. Margaret moved into Hospers in August, 1979. She had been a resident of the extended care unit of the Orange City Hospital since April, 1995. Mrs. Stapenhorst was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Al ice Stapenhorst of Sheldon; two granddaughters and their husbands, Carol and Chuck Rabel of Spencer and Jane and Randy Gesink of Alton; a grandson, Dave Stapenhorst of Hospers; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Stapenhorst; four brothers, Edward, Theodore in infancy, Frank and Joseph Robinet; and four sisters, Mrs. Peter (Mathilda) Klein, Mrs. Nick (Angeline) Becker, Mrs. John (Helena) Penning and Rosa Robinet in infancy.
