Mrs. Visser died at the home of her brother J. Brouwer on Tuesday morning at nine o’clock after a long illness. Deceased was seventy three years of age and the past two years has suffered greatly with cancer.

She was born in the Netherlands and in 1887 came to this country with her husband and children. Twelve years ago they moved to town having lived in the country near this place for some time, and in 1901 Mr. Visser died. For several years deceased lived here with her granddaughter Mary Zwaan, who was intied in marriage to H. Elgersma a few years ago and who die last last week. The funeral services were held at the Chr Ref. church on Thursday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. Timmerman.

(In the 1910 census Martje Visser 71, born 1839 Netherland. She was living with Harry Elgersma and wife Mary, with their son Ernest Elgersma baby. 1900 census of Orange City lists Cornelius Visser 61 and wife Maria Visser age 60 and living with them was Maria Zwaan age 10. A family history on ancestry list Cornelis Visser born about 1839 Andijk Neth, married 22 Apr 1862 Andijk to Marijtje Brouwer 1839. They has a daughter Trijntje Visser 1863, she was married to Arien Zwaan 1864-1897. .
