Miss Gertie De Boer died Wednesday following a very serious operation for inside goiter. The heart was too weak to stand the ether.
(found a Gertrude De Boer born abt 1913 living in Plato Tsp, Sioux County. Daughter of Nick DeBoer and Gertie De Boer.)

Funeral services for Gertie De Boer whose death was briefly mentioned in last week’s Bee were held Saturday afternoon from the Chr Ref. Church in Rock Valley. Gertie DeBoer daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nick De Boer died last Wednesday fallowing an operation for a goiter. He sudden death was a great shock to her bereaved relatives. She was born Sep 13, 1912/13 at the farm home southeast of Rock Valley where all her life was spent. She was a young lady who was much thought of by all who knew her and her untimely death is very much regretted by her relatives and friends. She leave her parents and four brothers and one sister as follows, Willie Jerry, Nick, Jake and Anna.
