Djurian De Boer passed away at the home of this son Nick De Boer southeast of Rock Valley on Saturday Dec. 7, 1940 after a long illness of dropsy.

Djurian De Boer was born in the Netherlands on October 24, 1857, and came to the US in 1887 at age of 30 years. He leaves to mourn at his passing Nick and John De Boer both of Rock Valley. At the time of his passing he was 83 years on month and thirteen days of age.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 at the home and 2:00 in the Chr Ref. Church conducted by Rev. H. J. Triezenberg, pastor.

(According to an on line family tree on ancestry, Djurrie ‘Jerry’ De Boer born 24 Oct 1857 Wonseradeel Frisland Neth. Was the son of Klaas Jacobs De Boer and Hinke Lieuwes Kool . He was married to Grietje ‘Grace’ Vander Plaats 1855-1924. They had three sons, Nick 1882 , Jacob b. and d. 1884 and Jacob 1886.
