(only this Dutch reference was found for his death. A family history on line reports Charles D. Charlie De Boer born 17 October 1879 Alton IA died 20 March 1918 Hull IA. His was born to Douwe C. De Boer and Augusta Marie Fredericka Kadolph. He married Johanna ‘Josie’ Hofmeyer 1878-1958, they had a large family of children. Douwe, Gerrit, August, Gilbert, Ellen, Bernice, and Clarence .)
