From the Rock Valley Bee, February 13, 1920:

MRS. ANNA KNORR

The funeral of Mrs. Anna Knorr, wife of Ed. Knorr of this city, whose death was mentioned in last week's Bee, was held Saturday afternoon from the late home of the deceased, the services being conducted by Rev. Kuiper of the Christian Reformed Church.

The subject of this sketch was born in Holland, May 20, 1888, where she received her early training and grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Ed Knorr April 7, 1908. Shortly afterwards she came with her husband to this country. They lived at Patterson N.J., about a year and from there came to Rock Valley where they have since resided, Mr. Knorr following his trade as a painter and decorator.

Mrs. Knorr passed away at her home in Rock Valley last week Thursday morning following a brief illness. The Sunday before her death she gave birth to a baby boy whom she christened Edward. At the time she was sick with the influenza which quickly developed into pneumonia and in her weakened condition she was not able to withstand the ravages of the disease.

Mrs. Knorr was a good woman, loving and kind to her husband and children and highly respected by all who knew her. Her untimely death is a great shock to her bereaved ones, coming as it did at a time when they most needed her motherly care and guidance.

She leaves to mourn her husband and three children, Agnes, Gerard and Edward. The sincere sympathy of many friends is extended to the bereaved ones in their great sorrow.

From the Alton Democrat, February 14, 1920: Rock Valley news:

Mrs. Anna Knorr, wife of Edward Knorr, who suffered an attack of pneumonia, in addition to child-birth, could not withstand the physical strain and passed away at her home Thursday morning, Feb. 5th. The deceased was born in Holland, May 20, 1888, and at the time of her demise was 31 years, 8 months and 15 days old. She was married to Edward Knorr in Holland, April 7, 1908, and in the same year they emigrated to America and located in Patterson, N.J., where they resided for one year and a half, and then came to Rock Valley, where they have resided continuously. As a result of their marriage three children were born to them, two boys and one girl.

Her associations were confined to a limited sphere, but were genial and pleasant. She was devoted to her family, and the interests of her home, and she was a true helpmate in the general acceptation of that term. She was industrious and tidy, and was always ready to do a good turn to those in trouble. It is pathetic that she should be taken from her family when her tender ministrations are most needed, but we must bow in humble submission to His will. Funeral services were conducted at the home Saturday afternoon by Rev. H. Kuiper, pastor of the Christian Reformed church. Her remains were interred in Valley View cemetery. The husband and children have the sympathy of their friends in this their sad hour.
