Alton Democrat May 14, 1975

August H. De Boer, 77, Alton, died May 8 at the Orange City hospital after a lengthy illness. Services were at 1:30 p.m. May 12 at the First Reformed Church w i t h the Rev. Clarence Greving officiating. Burial was in Nassau Township Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home in Orange City.

Mr. De Boer was born Sept. 19, 1898, and married Grace Scholten Jan. 16, 1920, in Rock Rapids. They farmed near Alton until December, 1944, when they moved to Alton.

Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Lewis(Dorothy) Furda of Dubuque, Mrs. Dick (Lois) Te Brink of Alton and Mrs. Jason (Marilynn) Loving of Muskegon, Mich.;14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward of Orange Cily, and six sisters, Mrs. H.M. (Minnie) Scholten of Boyden, Mrs. James (Rocina) Van Gorp, Mrs.Jake (Emma) Kleinhesselink and Mrs. Otto (Teina) Rowenhorst, all of Orange City, Mrs. Jake (Bertha) Zwagernian of Hospers and Mrs. Henry ( Elvina ) Kamminga of Newport OR.
