Funeral services were held at Central Reformed Church here at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday for John J. Bomgaars, 52, engineer at the municipal light and power plant here since October, 1954, who died unexpectedly at his home here about 6:30 A.M. Sunday of a heart ailment.

Services were conducted by the Reverend Marion Klaaren and burial was made in the Hull Cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg’s Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Mr. Bomgaars was born at Orange City March 18, 1908, and resided all his life in Sioux County. Before accepting city employmment here in 1954 he had worked for many years as a mechanic at the Mouw Motor Company, and also had worked for several years as a mechanic at Hull.

He was married to Edith Wallinga at Hull, Iowa, June 3, 1935. Besides his wife, he is survived by one married daughter, Mrs. Howard Langstrant of Sheldon.

Mr. Bomgaars is pictured above with a small engine which he made in his leisure time last spring and winter.

He is also survived by two grandchildren. Mr. Bomgaars had three brothers--Marinus, Gerrit and Arie-- all of whom preceded him in death. He was a member of Central Reformed Church. Pallbearers were Richard Kroon, Marion Wissink, Wilmer Van Berkum, Lloyd Van Roekel, Sam Bruinsma and Ted Vanden Berg.
