Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon, October 2, from the home at 1 P.M. and from the First Reformed Church at 1:30 P.M. for Mrs. Ella Boersma who died the preceding Wednesday noon in the Grossmann Hospital at Orange City. Reverend A. Hellinga officiated.

Ella Boersma, nee Ella Hofmeyer was born August 20, 1879 in the Netherlands and came to America at the age of two. She was married to Mr. Martin Boersma of Hospers on February 12, 1902, the couple resided on a farm just west of town for many years before moving to Hospers in 1950. Mr. Boersma passed away on March 10, 1952.

Two children were born to this union, namely Winnie (Mrs. Sylvester VanRooyen) and Herman. Besides the children she is survived by two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, also the following brothers and sisters: Hattie (Mrs. John VanOort, of Sheldon, John Hofmeyer, Sanborn, George Hofmeyer of Sibley, Josie (Mrs. Mike Foreman of Hospers, William Hofmeyer and Gertie (Mrs. Gerrit VanderSchaaf) both of Hospers, and Jake Hofmeyer of Orange City. Her parents, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Burial took place in the Hospers Cemetery. Pallbearers were Peter Klein, Harold Langenhorst, Joe Hoffs, Cornie Rensink, Jacob Peters and Peter Van Meeteren.
