Born: 1877
Died: 1938

The Hospers community was shocked Thursday to hear of the untimely death of Jake Boersma. Mr. Boersma had gone out Thursday morning to help his boys milk the cows, but after milking two cows he returned to the house complaining of a very severe pain in his head. He went to lie down and then lapsed into unconsciousness and he did not regain consciousness again. He had suffered a stroke and passed away about eleven o’clock. Mr. Boersma was born and raised in this community and was one of the prominent Hospers farmers. He was a very faithful member of the Presbyterian Church and will be greatly missed by his family, a large circle of relatives and an unnumbered host of friends. Complete obituary will be found else where in this issue.
