Ardje R. Boersma was born in Freesland Netherlands on December 2, 1841 and was united in marriage to Cornelius Boersma April 29, 1875. To this union one son was born who passed away about eight years ago. Mrs. Boersma has been an invalid since the death of her son and her death came as a relief.

The funeral service was conducted by Reverend Everds of the Presbyterian Church with which both she and her husband who have affiliated since it was organized. Hospers has been the home of this elderly couple for the past 41 years, they having come here from Holland in 1863.

Mrs. Boersma was a much respected mother and neighbor and although she leaves no children to mourn her passing the many other relatives and friends will miss her. Mr. Boersma is a carpenter by trade and helped in the building of many of the homes in Hospers and vicinity. We understand he will continue to reside in the old homestead.
