Died: September 26, 1988LeRoy Boersma, 40, of rural Hospers died Monday, September 26, in the Orange City Municipal Hospital of injuries suffered in an accident on his farm.
Memorial services were at 1:30 P.M. Thursday in the Presbyterian Church in Hospers. The Reverend Brian Janssen officiated.
Mr. Boersma was born April 30, 1948, in Hospers. He graduated from Floyd Valley High School in Alton and from Northwestern College in Orange City. He married Florence Mae Banks August 20, 1970, at Westfield. The couple farmed near Hospers. She died July 11, 1985.
Boersma was a member of the Hospers Presbyterian Church where he served as chairman of deacons and was involved in various activities. He also was a member of THEOS. He served on the board of directors of the Co-op Oil Company.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith and Pamela and a son, Scott, all at Home; his parents, Harry and Marie Boersma of Hospers; two brothers, Darold of Alton and Don of Hospers; two sisters, Shirley Fernstrum of Primghar and Helen Boersma of Sioux City; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wurth and Lenore Banks of Westfield; and a sister-in-law Candace Banks of Salt Lake City,
