Arie Edward Bogaard died at the home of his parents at Orange City, Iowa on Friday December 15th.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hillabrant B. and Janna (Jongewaard) Bogaard and was born near Orange City on July 23, 1887, and he was therefore only 24 years old, had just reached manhood in full, when cruel death struck him down.

The deceased is survived by his parents and six brothers and three sisters.

The Funeral services were held from the home and from the American Reformed Church on Monday December 18th and the large crowd of mourning friends attending the funeral services speak louder than words can tell how the community loved this young man.

Reverend McEwan conducted the services.

The following out of town relatives were present at the services - Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Jongewaard, Cornelius Jongewaard, Mr. and Mrs. John Muilenburg, and George Muilenburg of Hurley, South Dakota, Attorney and Mrs. C.A. Walhof of Rock Valley, Herman Bogaard of Pella, C. Jongewaard of Holland, Michigan, N. Jongewaard of Yakima, Washington, Mr. and Mrs. L. Redeker of Carmel, Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Jongewaard and Doctor and Mrs. A.C. Jongewaard of Sioux Center, Mrs. Andrew Everhardt of Hawarden and Mr. and Mrs. J. De Wilt of Hull.
