Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the American Reformed church for Mrs. William Van Horsen, who passed away on August 6 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital after a lingering illness. Reverend Alvin Hook conducted the services. Interment was made in the Sioux Center Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home.
Mrs. Van Horsen, nee Martha De Vries, was born in Holland, Minnesota, on April 25, 1890. She was married to Henry Boeyink in 1911 and 2 sons were born to this union. Mr. Boeyink passed away in 1927. On May 21, 1936, she was united in marriage to William Van Horsen and lived on a farm near Maurice until 1943 when they retired and moved to Orange City.
Survivors are her husband, 2 sons: Henry Louis Boeyink of Sioux Center, and Paul Warren Boeyink of Reno, Nevada, 2 step-daughters: Mrs. Arie Van Marel and Mrs. Tony Cleveringa, 1 step-son, Gary Van Horsen of Maurice: 4 grandchildren, 4 great- grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 8 step-great grandchildren.
