Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Boeyink nee Muilenburg were held Saturday, November 20, 1948 at the home of her son Gary Boeyink at 1:00 and at the Central Reformed Church at 1:30, with Reverend B. J. Ver Steeg officiating.Mrs. Boeyink died suddenly at her home in Sioux Center, November 17, 1948. She had been in poor health for two years but had been able to visit with friends and attend church for the past half year.
Mrs. Boeyink was born in Sioux County, August 14, 1882 and had reached the age of 66 years, 3 months and 3 days. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Muilenburg, pioneer settlers of Sioux County.
In 1908 she was united in marriage with Ralph Boeyink and to this union 8 children were born: Gary, Gladys (Mrs. Sam Bruinsma), Jake (deceased), Esther and Joyce (Mrs. Jack Moeller), Donna, all of Sioux Center, Leone (Mrs. Hallie V. Russell) of Colstrip, Montana and Roberta (Mrs. Don Colon) of Sioux City, Iowa.
She also leaves to mourn 21 grandchildren, 3 sisters, Mrs. S.A. Kalsbeek and Miss Josie Muilenburg of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. John Boeyink of Sioux Center and 15 brothers, Asa, Sioux Center, Dave of Hawarden, Allan of Boyden, Hubert of Orange City and Harvey of Los Angeles, California.
Those preceding her in death were her husband, Ralph Boeyink, May 3, 1941, her son Jake Boeyink, October 23, 1948, her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Leone, Mrs. H.V. Russel did not get home for the funeral because of weather conditions, but had visited her mother a week before her death.
Pallbearers were her four brothers, Asa, Dave, Allan and Hubert Muilenburg, and 2 nephews, Louis and Harold Boeyink, Burial was in the Sioux Center Cemetery.
