WILLIAM H. DAVISSON
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley
for Wm. H. Davisson, 68, with Rev. Mervin Nelson of the Methodist church conducting. He died Sunday morning, May 27 at the Veterans hospital at Sioux Falls after a long illness with cancer. Interment was in Valley View cemetery at Rock Valley with military rites.

Mr. Davisson was born at Aynsworth, Neb., on March 20. 1894. At an early age he came to Iowa
vith his parents where he attended the public school at Rock Valley. As a young man he was employed by the Milwaukee railroad and later engaged in carpenter, plumbing and electrical work locally. During the harvest season he operated a steam powered threshing machine, which was one of his prized possessions at the time of his death. He served in the. army during he first world war.

He married Violet Feuerhelm of Trent S D in January 27, 1927. To this union were born two daughters, Joyce now Mrs. Bruce Kurd of Yankton, S. D., and Jean, Mrs. Melroy McMahon of Indianola. He was preceded in death by a brother Ernest and a sister, Bertha (Mrs. Walter Stewart).

Besides his widow and two daughters he is survived by two brothers, George and Leslie of San Jose, Calif., a sister. Mrs. Willian Kessler of Rock Rapids and seven grandchildren At the services John Vander Kerk sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset" with Mrs. Pier Wynia as accompanist. Pallbearers were Adam Vander Bok, Judson Smith, Robert Kaufman, Hein Kosters, Alvin Miller and William Wynia.
