William Davis Sr.,69, of Paullina died Saturday, Sept. 18,1993 at the Primghar hospital.
Services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at Zion Lutheran Church, Paullina. The Rev. Stephen Kamprath officiated. Burial was in St Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Granville under direction of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home, Paullina.

Mr. Davis was born Dec. 4,1923 at Smithland, son of Charles and Emma (Lloyd) Davis. He attended Smithland area schools. He married Anna Schwebach Nov. 10,1943 at Granville. They moved to Paullina where he worked for the Paullina Tile Company, the Paullina Grain Company and later the Farmers Co-operative Elevator. He retired in 1976. Mrs. Davis died April 26, 1979 in Paullina. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a son and his wife, William Jr. and Virginia of Paullina; five daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Ruth) Rabe of Paullina, Mrs. Lance (Rose) Schafer of Meriden.Mrs. Allen (Marge)Stamer of Granville, Mrs. Ron (Pam) Jalas of Sutherland, and Mrs. Brad (Chris) Anderson of Milford; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Ethyl Wood and Mrs. Meryl Hair, both of Smithland, Mrs. Macel Wood of Onawa and Mrs. Dorothy Lane of Sioux City.

He was also preceded in death by four granddaughters, Anna Marie Shafer and Molly, Jazelle and Misty Jalas; his parents; a brother, Charles; and three sisters, Edna, Hazel and Maurene.
