Funeral services for Lawrence Lewis Dagle, 97, who died Sunday at St Joseph Mercy Hospital Sioux City, having also been hospitalized at Gordon Memorial hospital and In Hawarden, were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Barnard Funeral hone Rev. Norval Wigtil of the American Lutheran church officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery with the Two Oakes American Legion post in charge of interment services. Mrs. Ralph Gregg was the soloist with Mrs. Hal Shoemaker at the organ. Casket bearers were Wayne Scott, Gene Younie, LeRoy Mackey, Jake Fredrikson, LeRoy Heeren and Ed Lienhart

Mr. Dagle was born February 14, 1897, in Sioux City, one of ten children. He married Ethel Frances Scott of Hawarden July 14, 1919, in Sioux City where they resided 14 years. They then farmed in the Hawarden vicinity until their retirement in Hawarden 17 years, ago. Having served in the Army Signal Corps in World War 1, Mr. Dagle was a member and past commander of the Two Oakes American Legion post. He had also been a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Last Man's club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Chester of Hawarden and Walter of Canoga Park; Calif., three sisters Mrs. Lilly Jockhack of Sioux City, Mrs. Leona Witcher of Omaha and Mrs. Ida Mishler of Riverside, Calif; one brother, Nelson Dagle of Sioux City, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Corporal Donald Dagle. Lost in the Yukon Territory while serving with the United State Air Force in 1950.
