From the Alton Democrat, October 2, 1915: Rock Valley news:

Many of our citizens will be surprised to learn of the death of Mrs. A. S. Dodds, which occurred last Tuesday at the hospital at Pipestone, Minn., from uraemic poisoning, after an illness of four weeks' duration. She was born September 15, 1885 [i.e., 1855] at Freeport, Ill., and was united in marriage to A. S. Dodds at Shannon, Ill., December 4, 1877. She was the mother of two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Stenvads of Renville, Minn., and Miss Stella Dodds of Pipestone, Minn., and one son Ray Dodds at Aberdeen, S.D. The family had been residents of Rock Valley for several years where Mr. Dodds operated a meat market, after which they went to Pipestone where they have lived for nine years. She was taken to her old home at Shannon, Ill., for burial. The family have the sympathy of their many friends here in their hour of sorrow.
