Mrs. Jacob B. Klein of Granville died Jan. 8 at her home in Granville. She was 88 years old.
Funeral services were Sat. Jan. 11 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. N. J. Becker officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Rosary was recited at 5, 8, 8:30 and 9 p.m. Jan. 10 in Spalding Hall.

Cecelia Goebel was born Dec. 1, 1880 in New Vienna. She was married to Jacob Klein Feb. 4, 1902 in Granville. Her husband died in 1948.
One son Nick, died Oct. 27, 1966.
Survivors include three sons, Henry and Leo of Granville and Lawrence J. of Alton; five daughters, Sister Mary Oda of St Mary's in Dubuque, Mrs. Ed Penning of Granville, Mrs. Julius Penning of Granville Sister Mary Tresa of Colette Center in Dubuque, Agnes at home; a sister Mrs. Martha Wernke of Luxembourg, IA; a brother, John Goebel of Granville; and 31 grandchildren.

Pall bearers were Robert Smid, Melvin Pottebaum, Emil Bueltel, Norbert Naber, Leo Kraus, and Ray Schemmel.

Relatives and friends attending the funeral from a distance included Harold Penning of Omaha, Sylvester and Mrs. Penning and daughter of Kansas City, MO, the John Fischer family of Sheldon, Joellen Penning and Barb Nosal of Omaha, Dan and Mrs. Penning of Sioux City, Mrs. Mary Klein, Clarence and Mrs. Klein, Art and Mrs. Klein, all of Dell Rapids, S.D. Mrs. Henry Opbroek and Arnold and Mrs. Opbroek, all of Fairfax, S.D. Eugene Goebel and Ray Goebel of Luxembourg, Ia, Ray Goebel , Odilo and Mrs. Goebel and Firmin and Mrs. Goebel of Worthington, MN ,Ray and Mrs. Loutsch of Oyens, Larry and Mrs. McDermott of Kingsley, Tom and Mrs. Murphy of Sioux Falls, Pete and Mrs. Homan of Remsen, Sister Janet Keber of Ashton, Carl and Mrs. Postma and Jim and Mrs. Postma, all of Sanborn.
