Funeral services were held at his home in Hudson at 1 o’clock Sunday afternoon with the Reverend Robert F. Chapler, pastor of the Methodist Church in Hawarden, in charge. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery in this city.

Hirman Bennett was born in Pennsylvania November 26, 1851, where he grew to young manhood. He was united in marriage with Nettie McClain at Gallipolis, Ohio, but later they moved to Missouri. In 1893, they came from Missouri to this vicinity, locating on a farm southwest of Hawarden where they lived one year. They then moved onto a farm near Akron and from there they went to Kansas. They returned to this part of the country 15 years ago, locating at Hudson. For a time Mr. Bennett was janitor at the Hudson School but due to failing health he was obliged to give up his work a number of years ago. He had been in poor health for several years and had been bedfast most of the time since last June.

He is survived by his wife and four children, Mrs. John Krusen and Orville Bennett of Hawarden; Mrs. Issac Waterbury, Rapid City, South Dakota and Frank Bennett of Akron. He is also survived by three brothers.
