Wilmer D. Bellesfield was born and raised in Rock Valley. He was born October 5, 1896, and passed away in the Spencer, Iowa Hospital October 22, seventeen days after he had a stroke.

Mr. Bellesfield was a veteran of World War I and began his railroad career after getting out of the service.

He was the youngest son of Sarah and Samuel Bellesfield. He married Inga Miller of Fairview and later went to Sanborn to live.

After the daily passenger train service was discontinued, the Bellesfields moved to Spencer, where he worked until retiring. His parents, one brother, and four sisters preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his passing his widow, Inga, and one sister, Amy Moore of Rock Valley.

He was laid to rest in the Valley View Cemetery on Saturday afternoon, October 25
