The body of the late Rev. Jesse Cole, chaplain of the Iowa Soldiers home arrived here last evening and buried by the side of his wife and son, and daughter in the local cemetery. The old soldiers of the local G. A. R. met the body on its arrival and escorted it to the grave. Mr. Cole died at his home in Marshalltown last Monday, after several months of feeble health, and the funeral proper was held in Marshalltown.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Fred Wing and four sons. Some of whom accompanied the remains here. Jesse Cole was one of the pioneer Methodist preachers of Northwest Ioa and a platform speaker of recognized ability. He was made chaplain of the Soldier’s Home some twelve years ago and has been very little in this part of the state since that time.

The family from ancestry lists, Rev. Jesse B. Cole born Dec 28, 1840 England died 23 Aug 1913 buried Ireton IA, son of Thomas Cole and Elizabeth Brown. He was married to Chloe Elizabeth Stewart 1844-1910. The has as many as eight children: Lottie, Grace, Clark, Harris, Clara, Warren , Merrill and Willis. )
