Alton Democrat September 15, 1939

Miss Eva Clark, an inmate of the county home for many years, died Monday morning following
a heart attack. Originally, the family lived at Ireton but her parents died many years ago and the whereabouts of her brother are unknown. Burial was at the Orange City cemetery.

(1930 Census of Holland township Sioux County lists Eva Clark born abt 1878 in Iowa single a pauper. Submitter couldn’t readily establish further identity. WPA cemetery index lists Eva Clark died Sept 12, 1939 Orange City no birth date given buried in Blk D lot 6A.

In the hunt for Eva’s family found the below.
There was an Eva Clark age 36 born Iowa living in Cherokee IA in 1910 ??
In 1900 There was a Nehemiah J. Clark (divorced) age 47 born Sep 1852 living in Washington Tsp. Sioux IA with daughter Eva J. 24. In 1920 Nehemiah was living in Delmar Clinton county IA with brother Benj. 72. In 1930 he was living in Bloomfield Clinton IA age 77, he reportedly died in 1935.
In 1880 living in Onawa, Monona County IA was N. Clark 28 born Canada and wife E. Clark 23 born Iowa with Daughter Eva 4 born Iowa and son Elmer Clark age 1 born in IA. I900 census has Elmer Clark age 21 born Iowa living as a lodger in Sioux City Iowa. )
