Funeral services for Simon Beernink, who passed away Monday, April 2, will be held Thursday, April 5, (today) at 1:30 at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Funeral Home and at 2:00 at the Central Reformed Church with Reverend M. Klaaren officiating. Burial will be in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery with Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pall bearers will be Harold Beernink, Daryl Beernink, Vernon Beernink, Don Beernink, Andrew Beernink, and Wilmer Hulstein.

Mr. Beernink passed away Monday evening at the Sioux Center Community Hospital, He had
reached the age of 87 years, 6 months and 22 days.

Mr. Beernink was born in Wapon, Wisconsin and came to Sioux county with his parents when he was three years old.

On June 24, 1898, he was united in marriage to Miss Jessie Van Berkum and to this union the following five children were born: Mabel, Mrs. John G. Vander Berg; Grace, Mrs. D.E. Vander Berg; Esther, Mrs. Neal Schoep; William Beernink and Ella, Mrs. G. J. Vander Berg.

Besides the children, he is survived by his aged wife, 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. George Siemen and Mrs. Gerrit Ellerbroek, and one brother, Henry Beernink. Two grandchildren preceded him and also three brothers, John, Ruben and Gerrit and one sister, Ella, Mrs. Henry De Mots
