BURIAL SERVICES WERE HELD FOR FORMER HULL RESIDENT AT HOPE CEMETERY THURSDAY

Burial services for Mrs. M.B. Lickel was held in Hope Cemetery, Hull, last Thursday afternoon.

Mrs. Mary (nee Wilson) Beckman-Lickel was born in Streeter, Illinois on May 4, 1863 and passed away suddenly in Salem, Oregon, Friday morning, September 24, 1948. Funeral services were held in Salem Monday, September 27th and her remains were brought to Hull for interment.

Mrs. Lickel is survived by three sisters and one brother: Mrs. Emma Bohnett of Hasting, Nebraska; Mrs. Ella Latham of Springfield, Illinois; Mrs. Rose Kennedy of Kansas City, Missouri; and Mr. John Wilson of Fulda, Minnesota.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Shreve of Salem, Oregon and three sons, Mr. A.P. Beckman of Inwood, Iowa; Mr. C.O. Beckman of Melvin, Iowa; Mr. F.C. Beckman of Raymond, Washington; and seventeen grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Four sons preceded her in death. They were Mr. H.C. Beckman, Sioux City, Iowa; Mr. L.M. Beckman, Sioux City, Iowa; Mr. W.E. Beckman, Sioux City, Iowa; and Mr. V.H. Beckman, Stockton, California.

She was a member of the Sons of Union War Veterans’ Auxiliary, the Rebeccas, the W.R.C. and the War Mothers Organization of which she passed through the offices and served for many years.
