Mrs. Alfred (Jennie) Beckman, 76, died on January 28 at Canton-Inwood Hospital, after a short illness. Funeral services were held on February 1, at 1:30 P.M. at the First Reformed Church at Inwood with the Reverend Henry Kolen Brander officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Freda Vander Sluis and Heinie Pollema. Burial was at Hope Cemetery at Hull under the direction of Porter Funeral Home of Inwood.

Jennie is the daughter of Arie & Aaltje "Anna" (DeVries) Burggraaf. She was born July 29, 1882 at Rock Valley.

Jennie married Alfred Portun Beckman on September 17, 1910 in Hull, Iowa. They are the parents of Frederick C. "Fred", Arie, Peter & Alvina; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
