Katie Baker, 64 died Friday April 6 at 11:45 p.m. in a local hospital. Her death was caused by a stroke which she suffered on Wednesday morning.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Baker and was born November 13, 1886 in Oelwein, Iowa. At the age of two years she moved with her family to New Holland, South Dakota and in 1891 to Wright County, Iowa.

In 1912 she came to Orange with her parents and brother Sam. Her parents, a sister, Mrs. Neal Koster and three brothers, Sam, Peter and Neal preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Mrs Dena Baker and Mrs. Clara Baker, one brother-in-law, Neal Koster, three nieces and three nephews.

Funeral services were held on Friday, April 10 at 12:45 at the home and at 1:15 at the First Christian Reformed Church under the direction of Reverend R. Bronkema. Burial was in the local cemetery.

She was the head of a sewing class which taught many girls how to sew and she was thoughtful, doing many little acts of kindness for underprivileged persons.
