Hawarden Independent January 19, 1995

Justin Younie, 19, of Hawarden, was dead on arrival at the Marian Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa on Saturday, January 14, 1995. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the American Lutheran Church in Hawarden with Rev. Karla Kirkeby officiating. Burial was held at Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at the Porter- Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden. A prayer service was held 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Church.

Mr. Younie was born April 11, 1975 at Hawarden, the son of Richard and Vicki (Janssen ) Younie. He attended the West Sioux High School where he was active in wrestling and cross country. He graduated with honor in 1993. He was currently attending the University of South Dakota in Vermillion where he was a sophomore. He held a black belt degree in Tae Kwon Do, receiving it from the Hawarden Tae Kwon Do Center under Ray Wickre.

He is survived by his parents, Richard and Vicki Younie of Hawarden; Two brothers, Jerred and Josh both at home; his grandparents, Kenneth and Charlene Janssen and Scott and Marjorie Younie all of Hawarden; Great-grandmother, Rose Yates of Hawarden; Aunts and Uncles, Scott R. and Mary Younie of Sioux City, Pat Dorhout of Hawarden, Jim Younie of Hawarden, Scott and Bobbi Janssen of Rapid City, S.D. and Mike and Venessa Janssen of Bamberg, S.C.
