Bernadine E. Meins, of Vermillion, formerly of the Hawarden area, died Monday, September 12, 1994 at the Dakota Hospital in Vermillion, SD. Funeral Services were held at 1-30 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden with the Rev. Loren Vogler officiating Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery at Akron. Visitation began at noon on Tuesday, September 13, and the family was present form 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Mrs. Meins, the former Bernadine Muth, was born June 7, 1914, rural Sioux Center, the daughter of Albert and Martha (Baumgartner) Muth. She married Otto Meins February 20 1941 at Ireton. They farmed in the Hawarden area. Otto died August 13, 1990. Bernadine moved to Vermillion in September of 1993. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden.

Survivors include 2 sons and their wives, Larry and Clarene of Vermillion, Jerry and Margene of Missouri City, TX; 2 sisters, Mrs. John (Melba) Bultman of Akron and Mrs. Lorentz (Fern) Opdahl of Hudson, SD; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Thomas Muth, RusselJ Mmh, and infant brother, and a sister, Donna Brown
