Elvin R. Hamilton, of Fort Worth, TX, a retired Postal Service carrier, died at his home Friday after tumor surgery. He was 61. Funeral Services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he was a member. Burial was held in Laurel Land Memorial Park. The family received friends at Thompson's Harveson and Cole Funeral Home.
Mr. Hamilton was born in Union County, South Dakota. He had lived in Fort Worth since 1959. He entered the army in July, 1954 and completed his basic training at Fort Hood, TX. He arrived in Europe in January, 1955, and was a member of the 4th Infantry Division in Germany. He was in the Air National Guard 28 years. Mr. Hamilton was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Hawarden and graduated from Hawarden High School in 1951. The family requests that memorials be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church
Survivors: Wife, Joyce Hamilton of Fort Worth; two sons, Ted Hamilton and Timothy Mark Hamilton, both of Fort Worth; mother, Laura Hamilton of Hawarden; five brothers, Delbert Hamilton and Jack Hamilton, both of Sioux Falls, Wayne Hamilton of Alcester, Richard Hamilton of Hudson and Lester Hamilton of Hawarden- sister, Angelene Van Wyhe of Ireton.
