Marion "Mike" Reit
Marion Reit, 89, was born August 1, 1904, in Canton, SD, to parents Herman and Jantje (Boog) Reit and entered into death on June 29, 1994, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls SD. Services were held Saturday, July 2, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford with Rev. H. Allen Vik officiating. Burial was held at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Beresford.

Mike received his early education in Rock Valley. He married Helen Klumb on February 14, 1933, in Hawarden. The couple fanned north of Beresford from 1933 to 1971 when they retired and moved into Beresford. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, the Lion's Club, Union County Weed Board, and served in different offices while a member of Skrefsrud Lutheran Church.

Among those who survive and who gratefully shared his life are his wife, Helen of Beresford; on son Allen (Butch) and daughter-in-law LaDonna, of Beresford; two granddaughters, Karla (Mrs. James Hooper) of Rosemont, MN, and Trisha (Mrs. John Knoell) of Lincoln, NE; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, one sister and one granddaughter.
