Jay Oostra, formerly of Rock Valley, passed away on March 15, 2015, after a two-year struggle with cancer.

A memorial service was held on March 21 in Manhattan, New York.

Survivors include Jay’s parents, Jake and Teresa (DeRuyter) Oostra, a sister, Slonna and Jerry Plasier, and a brother, Stan and Lori Oostra. Also, three nieces and three nephews and a host of friends.
